• 87 • meetings to learn what “magic tricks” we’ve got. As a matter of fact, almost all colleges have formed their Toastmaster club in recent years. If Dr Yung is at the top of the Toastmasters pyramid, then the following people are the layers of its solid base. This club would not have been successful if it were not with all their help. My colleagues, Dr Linda Yung, Dr Peter Jakubowicz, Dr Florence Lai, Virginia Hung, and many former Wellesley fellows, Katie Berroth, Meredith Riley, Sara Newland, Tiffany Rechsteiner, Cynthia Chen, and Kristin Liska, who have served as advisors to the Club, and our club sponsor, Ricky Cheng, and mentor, Irene Chen. They have generously spent many Saturday afternoons to help our students to work on their speeches and delivery skills. The past and present CC Language Enhancement Program Representatives – Dorothy Fok, Candy Wong, Mandy Lee, Jennifer Shum, Joyce Chan, and Katrina Chu, who help with the administrative work of the club. And what makes CCC Toastmasters Club a true family is our very committed and supportive alumni. No matter what roles you have taken, you have all sowed the seeds of learning in our young members, and with your continuous support and care, I’m sure they will grow and flourish, generations after generations. So, to all of you who have contributed to our club in one way or the other, thank you and I salute to you all! The year 2012 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Chung Chi College Toastmasters Club. This means that I have been a member for ten years now. CCC Toastmasters holds a dear place in my heart, so does it to every member. Going to a Toastmasters meeting is an activity that I have never felt stressed. Indeed, it has always been my pleasure to be involved in each and every meeting. I love the positive energy our members emit, and believe me, it’s contagious. For those who haven’t come to a Toastmasters meeting yet, I hope you will give yourself a chance to experience what I discovered ten years ago.
