Chung Chi College 75th Anniversary: Excellence Talk Series on Health Insights

Chung Chi College grandly held the opening ceremony of its 75th anniversary signature event, the "Excellence Talk Series", on February 7, along with the inaugural talk. 

This talk, themed "Health Insights,"  was honored to feature Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, and Professor Vincent Mok Chung-tong, Master of S.H. Ho College of CUHK, as keynote speakers. They shared cutting-edge perspectives on “Building New Defenses Against Cancer” and “Strategies for Preventing Dementia” respectively. Both presentations were insightful, accessible, and uniquely perceptive, attracting over 600 participants—including students, faculty, alumni, and members of the public—with enthusiastic response.

Chung Chi College 75th Anniversary: Excellence Talk Series on Prosperous Aging

Chung Chi College continued with two keynote lectures on April 11 on the theme of “Prosperous Ageing”, exploring how to achieve a fulfilling and healthy retirement from the dual perspectives of financial planning and traditional Chinese medicine.

The College was honoured to welcome two distinguished keynote speakers: Dr Norman Chan Tak-lam, Vice-Chairman of the CUHK Council and Chairman of the CCC Board of Trustees, and Professor Lin Zhixiu, Director of CUHK’s School of Chinese Medicine, Director of the CUHK Hong Kong Institute of Integrative Medicine and Fellow of CCC. Both talks combined academic rigour with practical relevance, attracting an audience of over 600 students, staff, alumni and members of the public. The event involved enthusiastic participation and lively interaction.We hope everyone left inspired and equipped with practical knowledge.

Chung Chi College 75th Anniversary: Excellence Talk Series on Inspiring Minds

“Chung Chi College 75th Anniversary: Excellence Talk Series on Inspiring Minds” was successfully concluded on April 25. The College was honoured to welcome as the keynote speaker renowned actress and writer Dr Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia, who shared her experiences and profound insights drawn from her life.

The talk, “Wonders in Every Step; Splendors at Every Turn”, was moderated by Professor Serena Jin Sheng-hwa, Emeritus Professor of Translation at CUHK and President Emeritus of The Hong Kong Translation Society.

The talk received an overwhelmingly positive response, attracting nearly 3,000 students, staff, alumni and members of the public. The main venue, Chung Chi College Chapel, was full, while the talk was also broadcast live at multiple locations across the campus.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia for her sincere sharing and to Professor Serena Jin Sheng-hwa for her thoughtful conversation. The two speakers eloquently shared a variety of wonderful stories, filling this afternoon with depth and warmth.

We also thank every guest who came to support the event. May we all, as Dr Lin said, be the best versions of ourselves.

Chung Chi College 75th Anniversary: Excellence Talk Series on Future Innovation

Chung Chi College’s flagship event for its 75th anniversary, the Excellence Talk Series, concluded on July 11. The final two talks, themed “Future Innovation”, attracted over 600 faculty members, students and alumni at the campus.

The College was honored to invite Professor Philip Chiu Wai-yan (Chung Chi College / 1994 / MBChB), Dean of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine, CUHK Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Professor of Robotic Surgery and Director of the CUHK Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center; and Professor Herbert Chia Pun-kok, Senior Advisor of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Hong Kong & Macau, former Vice President of Alibaba Group and Adjunct Associate Professor of the Institute for China Business at the University of Hong Kong. They shared insights on how cross-disciplinary medical-engineering collaboration is driving innovation in cancer treatment and how artificial intelligence is reshaping global economic frameworks, providing the audience with rich inspiration and profound insights.
