The research team led by Professor Tang Ming Kuen from Department of Anatomical and Cellular Pathology received one of the top 10 excellence awards at the National Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition, marking the history of Hong Kong team with this highest honour. The team discovered an unreported T-cell, a super immune cell that can naturally destroy malignant tumors, meanwhile, developed a platform for the large-scale, rapid production of these novel T-cells.
