Professor Sun Xiankai from the Department of Electronic Engineering was elected as Fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) in the 2026 class, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the fields. Forty distinguished scholars from around the world received this prestigious honour this year and two of them, including Professor Sun, are from Hong Kong.

Professor Sun is an expert in chip-scale integrated photonic, electronic and mechanical devices and systems. He is also the Associate Director of the Centre for Optical Sciences. Our hearty congratulations!
