Bangladesh Community Service-Learning Programme

2026/27 Term 1

Objectives

To cultivate a sense of community service in Chung Chi students;
To provide students with opportunities to get in touch with different segments of society, broadening their horizons, and strengthening their critical thinking on social issues; and
To provide students with opportunities to further develop personal growth and enhance social skills through reflective journals, evaluation meetings, and discussions in seminars.

Eligibility

In 2026/27:

In 2nd year of attendance or above (Students with normative study period of 3 years or more)
No constraints on study year (for students with a normative study period of 2 years, applicable to those admitted in 2023/24 and before)

Themes of Service-Learning

To explore the lives of children in Bangladesh and key social issues such as poverty, malnutrition, child marriage, and child labour.
To support local education and child development through teaching and interactive service activities.
To visit World Vision project sites and understand their work in child protection and community development.
To engage in environmental and community initiatives that promote sustainable development in urban and rural settings.
To foster global citizenship and personal growth through cross-cultural exchange and reflection.

Fee and Deposit

HKD$7,000 (excluding flight ticket) | Deposit of HKD$3,000 is refundable upon completion of programme; in case of withdrawal from the programme, the deposit will not be refunded. Participants can be reimbursed 50% of the airfare (maximum HK$ 2,800).
