Bangladesh Community Service-Learning Programme

2026/27 Term 1

 

 

Objectives

  • To cultivate a sense of community service in Chung Chi students;
  • To provide students with opportunities to get in touch with different segments of society, broadening their horizons, and strengthening their critical thinking on social issues; and
  • To provide students with opportunities to further develop personal growth and enhance social skills through reflective journals, evaluation meetings, and discussions in seminars.

 

Eligibility

In 2026/27:

  • In 2nd year of attendance or above (Students with normative study period of 3 years or more)
  • No constraints on study year (for students with a normative study period of 2 years, applicable to those admitted in 2023/24 and before)

Cantonese and English

Themes of Service-Learning

  • To explore the lives of children in Bangladesh and key social issues such as poverty, malnutrition, child marriage, and child labour.
  • To support local education and child development through teaching and interactive service activities.
  • To visit World Vision project sites and understand their work in child protection and community development.
  • To engage in environmental and community initiatives that promote sustainable development in urban and rural settings.
  • To foster global citizenship and personal growth through cross-cultural exchange and reflection.

Fee and Deposit

HKD$7,000 (excluding flight ticket) | Deposit of HKD$3,000 is refundable upon completion of programme; in case of withdrawal from the programme, the deposit will not be refunded. Participants can be reimbursed 50% of the airfare (maximum HK$ 2,800).
