It is simply to make the college a better institution, an institution where students and staff take their calling seriously and where we put first the things that matter most – learning and teaching, the increase of true knowledge, learning how to be critical, but even more the learning of reverence, learning how to live with one’s equals in openness, mutual trust and respect, grappling with great problems of human existence: these are the kind of things that should concern us most deeply.
