Mr. Li Kwok Sing Aubrey comes from a distinguished family. His grandfather, Mr. Li Tse Fong, was a co-founder of the Bank of East Asia, and his father, Dr. Li Fook Wo, served as a member of both the Executive Council and the Legislative Council. Mr. Li received his higher education in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Brown University, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.

 

After graduation, Mr. Li embarked on his career in the finance industry, spanning over forty years. He served as Vice-Chairman of the Asia Pacific Region at S.G. Warburg & Co. and as Managing Director of N.M. Rothschild & Sons in Greater China and Hong Kong. Later, he founded MCL Financial Group and IAM Family Office. He currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of MCL Financial Group and Chairman of IAM Family Office. Additionally, he is a director on the boards of several listed companies, including the Bank of East Asia Limited, Kowloon Development Company Limited, and Pokfulam Development Company Limited.

 

Mr. Li has contributed his professional expertise to public service. He was a member of the Council of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and was appointed by the Government to serve on the Investment Advisory Board of the Police Children’s Education Trust Fund, the Police Education and Welfare Trust Fund, and the Correctional Services Children’s Education Trust Fund. He also served on the Governing Committee and Investment Sub-committee of the Beat Drugs Fund and as Chairman of the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation Investment Advisory Committee.

 

From 2004 to 2023, he served as a Council Member of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), during which he was also a member of the Finance Committee. He is currently a member of CUHK’s Investment Sub-committee. In addition, Mr. Li was an adviser to Barry & Martin’s Trust, a British charity organisation, and is now a director of the Sinological Development Charitable Foundation.

 

Mr. Li’s grandfather and father both served on the College Board. To follow in their footsteps, he joined the Board of Trustees in 1991. From 2002 to 2015, he served as Treasurer of the Board, and as Chairman of the Board from 2015 to 2021. During his tenure as Chairman, he focused on long-term development for the College and oversaw the completion of the Chung Chi Student Development Complex. In honor of his parents, Mr. Li and his four sisters generously donated the “Fook Wo and Laura Jee Li Theatre” within the complex. In recognition of his significant contributions to the University and society, CUHK conferred on Mr. Li an Honorary Fellowship in 2022.
