[New GE course] GECC 3130 Exploration and Discovery - Beijing-Hong Kong University Student Exchange Programme

Chung Chi Updates

 

This programme is co-organized by Chung Chi College, Peking University, and the Lo’s Charitable Foundation, aiming to promote exchange between students from Hong Kong and Beijing. Through visits to various enterprises and organizations in Hong Kong, participants will enhance their cultural learning and communication skills, broaden their horizons, and cultivate an understanding and concern for a diverse society. The programme also encourages students to reflect on their own responsibilities to society and the nation, thus promoting inclusive development.

 

Completion of this course is equivalent to completing GECC4130 “Senior Seminar.” Places are limited. Interested students who have not yet taken the College upper-year GE courses are welcome to apply before the deadline on 15 May 2025.

 

Eligibility

Students in 2025/26:

  • In the 2nd year of attendance or above (for students with a normative study period of 3 years or more)
  • No constraints on study year (for students with a normative study period of 2 years, applicable to those admitted in 2023/24 and before)

First meeting with the course teacher

Joint Hong Kong tour with Peking University students: accommodated together in Chung Chi hostel, visit local enterprises and organizations, participate in experiential learning and workshops, etc.

Submit two Learning Logs

Mid-July to Mid-September

Conduct three Consultations with course teacher

Submit research topic, proposal, and first draft of the report

Early to Mid-October

Deliver Class Presentation and Commentary

Mid-November

Submit the Group Report, Individual Reflective Essay, Intra-group Evaluation Form

 

Language
This course and its activities will be conducted in both Putonghua and Cantonese.

Fee

Each participant is required to pay a deposit of HK$500. Students who complete the course requirements on time and perform satisfactorily will receive a full refund of the deposit.
