Professor Kwan Mei Po and her team have been awarded a major grant of HK$26.7 million from the Innovation and Technology Fund of the Hong Kong Government. Their project aims to conduct interdisciplinary research on next-generation carbon satellite remote sensing and chemical modelling to monitor greenhouse gas concentrations and track carbon sources at the global and hotspot scales.

Furthermore, the “Laboratory of Geospatial Intelligence” platform project, led by Professor Kwan in collaboration with Professor Chen Ruizhi from CUHK-Shenzhen, has successfully secured 6 million renminbi through the “1+1+1” Joint Collaboration Fund which is jointly supported by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, CUHK, and CUHK-Shenzhen.
