Pastoral Care

Former Chaplains

Chung Chi College is one of the founding Colleges of CUHK.  It provides higher education in accordance with Christian traditions.  There has been a “Chaplain” since the College was founded in 1951 and the College has kept promoting religious activities on campus since then. "Chaplain" is a unique member in Chung Chi College among the other nine Colleges.  He is responsible for the following as stated in the Chung Chi College Constitution:-

(a) directing the religious activities of the College,

(b) general oversight of the welfare and the corporate and social life of students and staff; and

(c) all other matters as directed by the College Board of Trustees.

Throughout the years, the position of College Chaplain has been taken up by: (1) pastors as appointed by church organizations which are constitutional members of the College Board of Trustees; (2) concurrent teaching faculty members of the Chung Chi College Divinity School; and (3) openly-recruited local pastors.
